As a teacher, Tanya has spent the last forty (40) years with the Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Academy of Dance, Ziegfeld School of Dance and as owner/Director of StarCast Dance Academy and Winnipeg Dance Force. Tanya has spent the last nineteen years with Tanya’s Dance Worx in Langdon. Tanya shares her expertise in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe and Hip Hop.
As a performer, Tanya was selected as dancer/ singer for Toronto’s "Phantom of the Opera" from over 1000 Canadian and American performers where she performed for almost 3 years. She has appeared in Winnipeg’s Rainbow Stage productions of Carousel, Cinderella, Peter Pan and Say it with Music.
Her credentials include being a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, Graduated Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet Teachers program as certified ballet teacher and a Member of the Canadian Professional Equity Performers Union.
Her choreography has provided over 50 award winning performances at L.A Underground, L.A Dance Force and Tremaine competitions throughout Canada and The United States of America between 1994-2004 and over 100 gold honour and gold awards from the Manitoba Dance Festival.
As a student, her training started at the age of 3 in Calgary. The majority of her training came from the Allan Cozzubbo Dance Academy, Brian Foley, Jacquie Lemay, Al Gilbert, George Randolf, Sean Debidin, Dave & Jackie Carter and various teachers from New York and LA. She completed Al Gilbert tap/ jazz exams obtaining honors and highly commended. She attended the Alberta Ballet Company. She auditioned for the summer school program with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet and was asked to join their professional program. Tanya trained with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet for 6 years, received scholarships every year graduating from Level 7 of Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional Division.
Miss Tanya has many students who have advanced into dance careers such as Las Vegas Celine Dion show, Cruise Ships, Mexico resorts, New York Broadway shows, Toronto’s Stratford Theatre and has also trained her students to successful careers in dance instruction.
Amanda's passion for dance is undeniable. From the tender age of 3 she began her dance journey and followed the footsteps of her mom, Tanya Sutherland. First training with Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Vince Perall in Toronto until her mom and Aunt opened up their first studio in Winnipeg. From a young age, Amanda always knew she wanted to dance and make a career out of it. Her love and passion for dance is brought to each class and she loves watching her students grow and reach their goals every year. Amanda believes in pushing her students to reach their potential in becoming the best dancers that they can be.
As a teacher, Amanda has over twenty-Five years experience with Tanya's Dance Worx and Winnipeg Dance Force. Amanda has spent the last twenty years with Tanya's Dance Worx in Langdon. She has won many choreography and best overall awards with Tanya's Dance Worx Competitive Team. Amanda shares her expertise in Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Lyrical.
As a performer, Amanda was selected as a dancer by Carnival Cruise Lines for three years. She danced in the Pan American Games Open Ceremonies in 1999 and Disney's Winnie the Pooh Festival in 1998. Her television and movie experience consists of roles on televisions Sesame Street and TV series "2030" on YTV, as well as Movie appearances with "Inside the Osmonds" and "One Last Dance".
Her scholarships consist include: 5-6-7-8 Showtime, One year scholarship with L.A. Dance Magic, Scholarships from Manitoba Dance Festival, Three time Best overall in Manitoba Dance Festival, Best overall in L.A. Dance Magic Competition, Best overall in L.A. Underground Competition, and Miss Photogenic Award from Dance American Extravaganza. As a student, Amanda has trained with Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Winnipeg Dance Force and Vince Perall. She has completed the Elementary Ballet Exam: Royal Academy of Dance (Commended) and attended training workshops with L.A. Dance Force, L.A. Dance Magic, L.A. Underground, Termaine, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Triple Threat and D.A.X.
Tianna was an exceptionally vibrant young dancer, moving to the rhythm from the moment she could walk. She began her dance training with Tanya's Dance Worx at an early age of 4. After years of dedicated practice, Tianna realized that she wanted dance to play a significant role in her life and future.
In the 2014-2015 season, Tianna became a valued member of the Tanya's Dance Worx family as a teacher. With twelve years of training and three years of assistant teaching with the mentorship of Tanya Sutherland and Amanda Hoiles. Tianna continuously brings her infectious optimism, high energy, and a deep passion for dance to every class. She is committed to helping her students reach their fullest potential while ensuring that they enjoy the process. Tianna shares her knowledge and skills in Jazz, Acro and Hip-hop.
As a student and performer, Tianna was joyful to dance with the TDW competitive team for 6 years. Her hard work, dedication and motivation directed her to accomplish outstanding awards at competition's. Her scholarships include a Jazz scholarship from Nuvo Dance Convention as well as three scholarships from Tanya's Dance Worx.
We are thrilled to have Tianna join us for her Eleventh season with TDW and look forward to another fantastic year ahead.
Emma has been a dedicated dancer since the age of two, developing a passion for the arts early in life. She has trained in a wide array of dance styles, but her favorites include ballet, jazz, and lyrical. Emma began training with Tanya’s Dance Worx when she was 8 years old and continued until she graduated high school in 2020. During her time with Tanya’s Dance Worx, she grew a love for teaching dance by assisting Miss Tanya in her ballet classes.
At the age of 13, Emma expanded her horizons by joining the Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede, where she trained for two years. This experience further shaped her versatility and performance abilities. After two years, she rejoined her TDW family until she graduated from high school.
Emma recently graduated from Mount Royal University (MRU) with a degree in Child Studies, with the goal of becoming an early childhood educator. While at MRU, Emma continued to pursue her passion for dance with the Cubs Dance Team. In her final year at MRU, she served as the Vice President of the Cubs Dance Team, where she took on the role of teaching technique and conditioning classes.
This year will be Emma’s first time taking on classes of her own at TDW! She is extremely excited to continue sharing her love and passion for dance and teaching children, and our students will be lucky to have her as a mentor this season!
Haylee's love for dance sparked at three when she joined her first ballet class. As she grew, so did her passion for dance, with evident dedication and perseverance. Haylee loves not just one but various disciplines including; ballet, pointe, tap, lyrical, jazz, and hip-hop. Taking a particular interest in jazz, ballet, and tap. Haylee's commitment to dance was undeniable, as she spent her spare time practicing at home, improving her technique, and choreographing her own routines.
In the 2022-2023 season, Haylee began to choreograph her tap solos, learning as she went, through different shading and rhythm techniques. Haylee has always been a technical dancer, prioritizing proper technique in her training. Along with competing with the TDW competitive team for 9 seasons, Haylee has been reconginzed for her technique, passion and her fast footwork on the stage!
In the 2023-2024 season, Haylee assisted dance instructor, Tanya Sutherland in all of her ballet classes, acting as both an assistant teacher and demonstrator. This allowed for growth in her knowledge of traditional ballet discipline across all grades. After five years of assistant teaching alongside Tanya Sutherland and Amanda Hoiles, Haylee has joined the Tanyas Dance Worx teaching staff, marking season 21 her first year as a teacher. We are excited to have her officially on the teaching staff and she's excited to bring her love to dance to each class!
Rori has danced with Tanya’s Dance Worx for over 15 years. She began at the young age of 3 and hasn't stopped dancing since! After graduating high school, she has been assisting classes and choreographing competitive routines. Rori fell in love with dance and teaching as it has been a way to express herself and be creative.
Rori assists Hip Hop, with Miss Tianna, and choreographs Hip Hop, Jazz, and Lyrical routines. The 2024-2025 season will be her second year choreographing and third year assisting. She is excited to have everyone back in the studio and she is looking forward to another great year to remember!
