This class is designed for children 3 and 4 years of age. A 45 minute class of ballet and creative movement. This curriculum is an introduction to dance. Royal Academy of Dance Ballet examination syllabus is taught emphasizing posture, poise, balance, rhythm, coordination and mime. It also lets our students to be able to learn to work together in a team or group atmosphere. A routine will be displayed at our annual dance recital.
This class is designed for children 5 and 6 years of age. A 45 minute split class which includes ballet, jazz, and Tap technique. Body awareness, warm-up exercises and stretching are introduced. Focus is on coordination and being able to join steps together with rhythm and skill. A tap routine will be displayed at our annual dance recital.
This class is for ages 6 and up. Either a 45 minute class depending on age. Ballet is the foundation of dance and will enrich students taking other disciplines in dance, skating and gymnastics. This is a discipline that will give students body awareness, poise, posture, flexibility, strength and grace.
A unique and specialized technique, pointe work allows female students to explore this extension of ballet. Pointe work demands a specific physical strength and flexibility in the structure of the student's foot, as well as in their overall physical strength, within her ballet technique. Important: (Students will be accepted based on strength and ability and the Directors discretion).
This is a fun high energy class for students 6 years and up. Warm up exercises and stretching involved. Jazz technique, turns and jumps taught across the floor and various stylized combinations. Upbeat music, fast and funky. Lots of fun for the students to express themselves.
Lyrical is a very expressive dance form that focuses on core strength and technique. Lyrical is a combination of jazz dance and ballet, where musical lyrics are expressed through movement. Students will study concepts such as musicality, coordination, technique, balance, and expression. We recommend some ballet or jazz training to take this class.
This class is designed for children ages 5+. A 45 minute fun class exploring rhythms and coordination to different footwork combinations and challenging counts and beats.
Hip-hop dance refers to social or choreographed dance styles primarily danced to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. This includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping which were developed in the 1970s. What separates hip-hop dance from other forms of dance is that it is often freestyle (improvisational) in nature.
Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. Students will learn to execute a various of tricks, jumps and turns while strengthening and working on flexibility. Proper spotting techniques are used to ensure safety of all students in this challenging dance and acrobatic style.
Stretch and tech is a class that offers an opportunity for dancers to focus on developing increased flexibility, strength muscles and improve stability. These classes focus on improving jumps, turns, flexibility and overall technique. This is an essential class for dancers who would like to see results and make constent progress in their dance training.
The Annual Dance Recital is our year end opportunity for all students to participate. This provides a chance to step outside of the classroom and perform on stage for parents, relatives and friends. This is an opportunity for students to show their accomplishments and achieve their goals of being able to perform in front of others. This enhances self-esteem and confidence in a fun and friendly environment.
